Early Voting has begun for the 2024 Election!!!
September 20th: Thank you to our CD-7 Republican Candidate Derrick Anderson for joining us in Stanardsville to kick off the 2024 Early Voting campaign! We had a great turnout of voters, and together we went across the street to cast our votes for Derrick, Hung Cao, and Donald J. Trump in force! Early voting runs 9-5 Monday-Friday from now until November. August 22nd: Chairman Todd Sansom and member Chad Kelley had the incredible opportunity to chat with Eric Trump at the Grand Opening of the Trump Cidery in Albemarle County. Eric was very interested to hear how things are going on the ground here in Central Virginia. He also made clear to the gathering that he intended to be here in Virginia working side by side with us to turn this battleground state a deep shade of red this November!

August Monthly Meeting Shows that Enthusiasm Continues to Build!
August 5th, 2024: We had another PACKED house at the Blue Ridge Cafe for a very important meeting, as the GCRC laid our the game plan for this all-important election season! We were joined by representatives from the Trump Campaign, the Derrick Anderson Campaign, and the office of State Senator Bryce Reeves. We set up subcommittees for door-knocking, phone banking, and the Pig Roast. We also went in depth discussing our best strategies for messaging and for reaching voters and getting their votes banked early! Voting begins in Virginia on September 20th, barely a month away! Lastly, we heard the shocking and emotional story of Harrison (Willie) Floyd), who was imprisoned in Georgia by radical prosecutor Fani Willis for his political activism. Another example that “That could never happen in America” is a phrase that can be retired. We are living in dangerous times, and this November is the most important election in our history!
MAKE YOUR PLAN TO VOTE EARLY! It helps the Republicans to know your vote is in the bank, and they can expend resources elsewhere! Plus, it takes you off the list to receive robocalls, text, mailers, etc. Need one more reason? The earlier you vote, the less likely it is that someone can try to cast a vote pretending to be you! It’s a win-win to get your vote locked in early!
Lieutenant Governor Winsome Sears visits the GCRC!!!
August 3rd, 2024: The GCRC was thrilled to welcome the Lieutenant Governor of Virginia to the Pavilion at Maybelle’s Market in Dyke for a breakfast and conversation with our members! As Winsome explores a run for Governor next year, she is out and about meeting with voters and talking about the issues, and we are so thankful she made a point to come to Greene!

JULY 23rd: The Rally in Radford!! A jam-packed Dedmon Center on the campus of Radford University was the site for an overflowing room of Republicans, and the main attraction was Vice Presidential nominee JD VANCE ! ! GCRC Chair Todd Sansom and Vice Chair Buddy Barre made the trip to represent the GCRC, and the room was amped up for a victory this November! Also on hand was U.S. Senate nominee Hung Cao, Congressman Morgan Griffith, and Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares. If Radford was any indication, Virginia will be bright RED on November 5th!

JULY 4TH, 2024: What a wonderful morning at the Stanardsville Independence Day Parade!! Greene County, WE FELT THE LOVE!! It may only be July, but Greene is REDDY for November! Thank you to our members and friends who volunteered to be a part of the parade with us, and thank you to the folks at Red, White, Blue n Greene for all of their hard work!! This was one for the books!

June 3rd, 2024: We had a particularly insightful meeting on this evening as we went in depth on our elections process and security with two of our current Greene Board of Elections members. Thank you Tom Boyd and Debbie Turk for speaking to our group! Members remain concerned about loopholes and gaps in our election law that may allow non-citizens to vote, or may allow anyone to vote in multiple jurisdictions. Our group also feels strongly that 45 days of early voting is too long and leaves the door open to shenanigans. That said, the Board members gave us confidence that, at least locally, our elections are being conducted with integrity and accuracy.
We also discussed the upcoming Primary and had two candidates speak to the group, Derrick Anderson and Maria Martin. We thank them both for coming to Greene! The Primary is June 18th, and we are all ready to determine who our candidates are and get moving towards turning out the vote!
MAY 6th, 2024: Another informative and entertaining meeting is in the books. We were blessed by a great turnout! Thanks to SCC representative Laird Knights and Bryce Reeves’ Legislative Assistant Carrie Sheffield for bringing valuable information to our members. Also thanks to Culpeper Chair Larry Green for making the trip to join us.
We heard from 4 Congressional Candidates (Myers, Anderson, Probhudoss and Hamilton) and had some valuable Q&A with each. Then, we heard from our guest speaker, Victoria Cobb, President of the Family Foundation. APRIL 17th, 2024: The GCRC was honored to co-host a 7th Congressional District Forum and Straw Poll as part of the “Quad County Alliance” with the committees from Madison, Orange and Culpeper. The event took place in Orange, Va at Madison at the Mill on Main St and was attended by over 200 Republican voters. The attendees heard from all 6 candidates on a variety of issues, as well as getting to hear from 3 of our U.S. Senate Candidates for the Republican nomination; Scott Parkinson, Jon Emord and Eddie Garcia. “I’m so pleased to have Greene as a part of this Alliance,” said Chairman Sansom. “Working in close partnership with our neighboring counties allows us to magnify the voice and influence of the Greene Republican voter, and ensure that our priorities are heard throughout the 7th District. The Quad County Alliance allows us to have a seat at the 7th table that carries a significance equal to the larger counties like Prince William or Spottsylvania. I’m excited to continue the partnership well beyond this first Forum.”
APRIL 8th, 2024: Our April Meeting is in the books! We were so thankful to be joined by 4 of the 7th CD Candidates, Cameron Hamilton, Jon Myers, Derrick Anderson, and John Probhudoss. We are also thankful to have been joined by several members of the 7th CD Committee, SCC Committee, as well as some friends from our neighboring counties. In addition to hearing from the candidates, we discussed the upcoming Quad County Alliance Debate and added some new members. Our next meeting will be May 6th at 6:30pm at The Blue Ridge Cafe in Ruckersville.
